
LONDON - fast train service from London, England to Paris, France again disturbed. Eurostar fast trains do not operate for more than an hour on Thursday, July 9 local time, after a tunnel in England was closed for security reasons.
Eurostar spokesman said there were reports of smoke rise from the tunnel under the River Thames in London. Immediately after the report, operators Eurostar London straight to close the tunnel speed train.
"There were initial reports about the emergence of origin in the tunnel," says Eurostar spokesman quoted by AFP on Friday (09/07/2010).
For the sake of security measures, the operator was forced to halt Eurostar services stop for a while. But Eurostar spokesman confirmed if the smoke that was previously reported as such, does not come from within the tunnel itself.
After more than an hour Eurostar operations finally back to work. Approximately 1500 passengers stranded due to disruption of Eurostar is operating. While the arrival schedule of the three confirmed Eurostar was delayed by this mess.
